A CLUEDO-style murder mystery evening helped a Lake woman take an important step towards her target of raising £30,000 for a piece of equipment to help Island cancer patients.
Around 65 guests attended the dinner-cum-whodunnit event at Shanklin Conservative Club last Friday.
Between courses, a cast of eight acted out parts of a semi-comedic murder-mystery scenario, with diners invited to write down who committed the murder and where, in true Cluedo style.
The winner received a prize.
The event raised £750 towards the purchase of a £30,000 portable ultrasound machine for the chemotherapy unit at St Mary’s Hospital.
The proceeds of the event have brought the running total to £21,540.
Anne Taylor, of Lake, who started the campaign last year, said: "It was a brilliant night and the fundraising is going very well. I’m hoping to hit my fundraising target in June."
The next fundraiser will be a Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance, with music by Island group, Reflections, at Shanklin Conservative Club, on Friday, February 10.
