Nineteen-year-old Marc Akin, from Broad Walk, had his first taste of inter- national action and could not have asked
for a better start as the defensive corner-back played his part in keeping a clean sheet.
Marc, who plays American football for Southwark-based London Olympians, was given the job of stopping the Dutch receivers from running with the ball and was selected for his country following trials held at Milton Keynes earlier in the year.
The teenager said: "I have always been interested in
American football but it did not really kick-off until I began playing for the Olympians two years ago.
"I was really pleased how the game went and, hopefully, I will be picked for England many times more."
