The weekend began with three points well earned after a 5-0 demolition of Gravesend.

The Robins took the lead after 20 minutes when Richard Newbery moved inside his marker and buried a shot into the corner of the net.

Three minutes later skipper Matt Elverson took advantage of a blocked shot from Newbery to bundle the ball across the line. Ten minutes later Newbery got the Robins' third, slamming the ball home inside the near post.

Matt Fowler grabbed a fourth from a counter attack, then Chris Currie rubbed salt into the home side's wounds with a fifth goal just before time.

The Gravesend victory was blighted by a 2-0 away defeat at Hendon on Monday, when a victory would have made Gary Bowyer's men safe.

The Robins had an early escape when Paul Smith blocked a shot and then, mom-ents later, Hendon's marksman blazed over when well placed.

On the hour the Robins conceded their fifth penalty in seven games, and Freddie Hyatt made no mistake from the spot.

Hendon doubled their advantage when Paul Towler scored from a free kick, leaving Bowyer to sweat over the Aldershot match that will decide their future.
