February 21, 2001 17:01: You have heard her music. Chances are you've seen her act. Now you can visit Sheila Fergson the website. Sleep must be a rare thing for the hardworking former Three Degree as she has several projects on the go.

As well as an enormously successful pop career she is currently touring with the stage show Soul Train, she found time to write a cookery book, she is hoping to break into films and is also working on a television sit-com.

She told Webwatch a professional web designer is working on the site but she is overseeing the content.

And that designer has done a marvellous job, with plenty of photos from the length of Ferguson's career and snippets of her greatest hits playing as you change page.

Visiting www.sheilaferguson.com is like watching a documentary where you get to choose the subject. Read a biography written by her daughter, click on the recipe-of-the-month, taken from her Soul Food cook book (this month you can make mouth watering muffins) or check up on the Soul Train show which recently had audiences dancing in the aisles at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley. Through the site she is making recording history as fans can choose the songs for her next album. She said: "Soulmates can nominate the songs. One will be chosen each month and by the end of the year I will record the album."

She added: "I have a lap-top and check my e-mails regularly.

"It is a great way to communicate, I have been catching up with people I haven't heard from in years like a friend in Indonesia after she found me through e-mail."

The only down side to the site is it is so well designed, if you have an antique computer it takes a very long time for the pages to load and impatience may force you to click on close.
