AWARD-winning bluesman Errol Linton and his band will return to the Island this month for a gig at Quay Arts, Newport.
Three times winner of Blues Harp Player of the Year, Errol and his band play British blues with a nod to his Caribbean heritage.
Errol carries the legacy of Little Walter, Junior Wells and Sonny Boy Williamson into the 21st century, moving the genre forward by combining 50sā€™ Chicago blues with gentle Jamaica rhythms.
His first album, Vibing It, secured regular airplay and a session on the BBC Radio 2 Paul Jones Blues Show and independent radio stations.
A firm fixture on UK and European blues festival and club circuits, he has opened shows for Screaming Jay Hawkins, Bo Diddley, Dr John and The Blind Boys of Alabama.
His latest album, Mama Said, features noted New Orleans trumpeter Abram Wilson and Serb pianist Peter Zivkovic.
