Folk duo return with eclectic set

Ruth Angell and Sid Peacock.

MUSIC FOLK duo Peacock Angell are to return to the Island this month.
Following successful gigs last year, the duo, comprising fiddle player, guitarist and singer Ruth Angell and guitarist and singer Sid Peacock, will perform at Quay Arts, Newport, next Saturday, May 19, and at Brading Town Hall on Sunday, May 20.
The gigs have been organised by promoters Vaguely Sunny.
Vic King, of Vaguely Sunny, said: “We can expect a very diverse range of songs and tunes, ranging from traditional Irish jigs, to more sensitive and reflective pieces, as well as some thoughtful adaptations of Tennyson’s poetry.
“Since they were here last year, Ruth and Sid have recorded a first-class debut CD, which is called Love Forgiven.”
