Then the Wildcats bagged two successive three point baskets from Mark Bottiglia to keep the Ks in contention.

Manchester, with Nick George scoring at will led at the break 37-26 and looked good to build on their lead.

Within three minutes Ian Rich and Jordan Ramagge had pegged that back to single figures.

Midway through the second half Benoit Danne tied the score at 50-50 with everything to play for.

Bottiglia hit two consecutive three point shots to give Wildcats the advantage which with good defence denied Manchester the opportunities.

General manager Steve Burnett was delighted with the win and paid tribute to all of the players and supporters.

He said: "I'm so proud of everyone involved in this success.

"Not only the players and coaches, but the army of volunteers, helpers and supporters.

"This championship is for everyone involved in basketball in Kingston."

Coach Nigel Acres said: "We went into the half time break 11 points down, but we knew we could play much better defensively. Once we stopped their scoring it opened up our offence."
