COMMUNIGATE no this is not a spelling mistake but the new web based information site for local community groups such as clubs, charities, associations, in fact everyone and anyone who wants to publicise their forthcoming activities. Our editor has asked us to bring this to the attention of this facility to groups in our respective areas. I had a quick surf into the site and as there was nothing from Chalfont St Peter I had a peep into the Holmer Green page. I hope my colleague who covers this area won't mind me mentioning this because frankly I found it very informative. For example the Holmer Green Village Centre Society are advertising their Golden Jubilee celebrations scheduled for June 30. I will not spoil it by going into any more details, just go into www.bucksfreepress.co.uk and click on Communigate.

However.......will someone please tell me what 'nbsp' stands for, and please no caustic comments about protection of birds?

NOW I can be officially contacted on e-mail via Chiltern District Council. E-mail me at pole@chiltern.gov.uk

This is part of the council's aim of putting all council activities on line as part of the E-Government initiative. So if anyone in Chalfont St Peter and especially in Austenwood has any matter which concerns them, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

LAST week I reported the new arrangements put in place for policing our village by Inspector Doug Proctor. I now read that we have a new traffic warden covering Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross. Presumably he will also be covering Chalfont St Peter, so beware you indiscriminate car parkers.

LOTS of people contact me regarding planning matters, especially contraventions of planning permission. I can assure you that these are all acted upon but I must point out that these have to dealt with through the proper channels. I am sure you will appreciate that such matters are semi-judicial and I would be in an awful lot of trouble if I went into print only to find that the person or persons concerned had not contravened the law.
