ISLAND musicians are to relive the glory days of the alternative music scene at a Christmas reunion.
Following last year’s huge success when Coburgs, in Ryde, was packed out, local musicians have brought back the gig for a third year. The back room of the Royal Squadron (now Coburgs) in the late Nineties and early Noughties, featured many of the local musicians who will appear on Wednesday.
This year, a wide range of rock, punk, ska and metal typically heard in this era will be delivered by live bands.
There are acoustic duos like Djinn Pallis, full band one-off reunions, including Scarred Bride, and new acts involving well-known musicians such as RPM.
Original music from Silencing the Voiceless will be followed by the well-loved Jukebox Band, back as the backing band, and a platform for solo artists to appear, such as Gareth Icke and many others.
Live music starts at 7pm and the event is free entry to all music lovers over 18.
Collections will be made throughout the night for charities, including WightSAR, Isle of Wight Search and Rescue.
