CARISBROOKE took a trip back in time.
An exhibition entitled Carisbrooke in Times Past took place in St Mary’s Church and church hall featuring more than 500 postcards, photographs, prints and articles giving a flavour of life in Carisbrooke through the decades.
The two major village buildings — the castle and the church — were heavily featured but there was also lots of material about the village High Street, village maps and education in Carisbrooke.
Organisers said the exhibition was well supported and many of those attending reminisced about the village they had been brought up in while others new to the village learned of its fascinating past.
