How about this for saving electricity — a Plugged In pedal-power fruit smoothie maker.
THROUGH the Plugged In initiative, Southern Electric will help make Bestival 2010 experience even greener.
Bestival is recognised as a green festival and Plugged In will be bringing lots of innovative green gadgets.
It has run the Plugged In Bestival Bands and DJs competition, giving winners Pilots the chance to play an official slot on the solar-powered Plugged In Bandstand.
Plugged In will have hydrogen fuel cell charging, so festival-goers can keep their batteries charged without harming the environment.
Plugged In will literally give power to the people, by offering revellers the chance to pedal their way to a fruit smoothie.
Bestival has been sold out for weeks, so Plugged In will be offering those without a ticket exclusive opportunities to get their hands on prizes and access to the festival.
Full details will be posted online at www.facebook.com/pluggedinlive.
Jonny Petrie, of Southern Electric, explained: "Plugged In is all about supporting local talent and offering local people a chance to shine by giving them an insight of what it is like to work in the music industry.
"As UK leaders in renewable energy, we’re keen to educate people on the benefits of sustainable energy and how to make a music festival a greener experience."
