THE Wight Strollers will return to Medina Theatre next month with the ultimate rags to riches tale — Cinderella.
Following the sell-out success of their last production, Jack and the Beanstalk, and their Girls Beehiving Badly carnival entry, Cinderella features a local cast and crew, spectacular scenery, stunning costumes, a live band and plenty of laughs along the way.
Proceeds from the performances will go to Island charities Wild Bird Aid, Newchurch beavers and cubs, the Fire Brigade Benevolent Fund and KissyPuppy. The money will also be used to buy a community defibrillator, the seventh bought by the group, and provide specialist transport to Global Rock for Medina House and St George’s School students.
Since 1981, the Wight Strollers have raised more than £200,000 for Island charities and good causes.
Cinderella has been written by mother and daughter team, Sarah and Emily Scotcher, and directed by Sarah. The musical director is Kim Ball with choreography by Cheryl Rudd.
Matinee performances will be held at 2.30pm on Saturday, February 10, Sunday, February 11, and Saturday, February 17, with evening performances at 7.30pm on the two Saturdays.
