MORE than 70 jobs are to be created at Stansted Airport with the news that Securicor ADI, the UK's leading airline and airport services organisation, has won two major contracts, at Stansted and Norwich Airports.

The deals make it one of the aviation sector's largest employers in the area.

Vital security functions at the airports have been awarded to the company, which will take on more than 100 staff as a result.

Securicor ADI is taking on the security screening of passengers' hold baggage and providing assistance for wheelchair-bound passengers in a three-year deal.

Securicor ADI's director of aviation operations, Joe Jeavons, said: "We're delighted to have earned these new contracts, and look forward to welcoming the new members of our team who will help us live up to our customers' expectations."
