Bad Changes

Being a resident of Penge for more than 60 years I have seen quite a few changes and I am afraid they are not for the best. The first was the so called "Ship of Penge". Then there was the alteration to the bus stop in the High Street which was built out further into the road, causing traffic chaos. Then there was the French Market which also caused traffic jams. But the worst must be the alterations to the Crooked Billet area. The clock looks like a pea on a drum. To make matters worse the trees around it are hiding the clock face. Most of the people I have spoken to are of the same opinion.
