Fond farewell to Audrey

LETTERS From Michael Taplin, clerk to Rookley Parish Council, Shanklin:
As Audrey Smith bows out as the Village Talk correspondent for Rookley, the parish council would like to express its thanks for her dedicated and hard work over so many years to keep local people up to date with all the various activities in the parish.
I am sure Audrey knows how much this has been appreciated by the wider community.
Editor’s footnote: Audrey has indeed been a fine employee for the County Press for the past 23 years. She will submit her last column for next week’s CP and we have appointed Chillerton woman Jill Shaw as her replacement.
