SEVERAL friends are cycling from Hayes to north Devon to raise money for charity.
Gwen Tanner, 51, of George Lane, Hayes, and five of her friends are hoping to raise £1,000 for each of six charities including Breast Cancer Care and Diabetes UK.
The group is setting off on July 16 and will go through Winchester, Salisbury, Glastonbury, Bampton and finally Barnstaple.
They are raising money in memory of members of Mrs Tanner's family who died last year.
Mrs Tanner said: "We have already secured accommodation along the way and we intend to take six days to reach Barnstaple where we hope there will be a welcome for us."
