LETTERS From John Edney, Newchurch:HAVING recently got married, my wife and I would like to thank the registrars for doing a good job. But I feel I have to register my disgust at our IW Council as a result of cuts and reorganisation. On arriving at Seaclose we were told if we wished to get married on a weekday we could only have five guests as the ceremony would be in the registrar’s office. If we got married on a Saturday we could have 16 guests, as they could move a partition wall in the planning offices to make a bigger room.As a council tax payer all my adult life, I consider the facility offered to us by the council to get married is an absolute disgrace. It is also an insult and embarrassment to their staff to have to offer such a poor facility.Needless to say, we did not use the council’s facilities.
