A PRISONER brutally attacked a woman dock officer after he was jailed for raping a teenage girl.

Violence erupted at the Old Bailey when Ricardo Prince, aged 29, of Sudbury Crescent, Bromley, was found guilty of raping a 14-year-old girl in her bed.

The rapist muttered: "My Lord, I didn't do nothing like it," before swinging his fist at dock officer Karen Woolfe.

He was bundled down the steps where the dock officer let out a 10-second, blood-curdling scream as Prince continued the onslaught. Some jurors looked visibly pale as her colleagues from Securicor raced up from the cells to restrain the defendant.

Prince, who was dressed in a green tartan blazer, had been found guilty of rape and jailed for eight years.

He pounced on his 14-year-old victim at her family home, in Crystal Palace, after creeping into her bedroom while she lay asleep.

The rapist, who was a family friend and had been trusted to look after the youngster, even offered to wash the girl's underwear after the assault had taken place. But she kept the underwear which was later used as incriminating evidence against her attacker.

Judge Graham Boal said Prince had been found guilty of a serious and sordid rape based on cogent evidence.

"It was a grave breach of trust which you committed," he added.

"It is clear your perverted lust for a girl under half your age has caused resentment in her family."

The judge also ordered Prince's name to remain on the sex offenders' register for an indefinite period.

As the judge ordered him to be sent down to the cells, Prince shouted he was innocent before lashing out at the woman dock officer.

Prince denied raping the teenager, now aged 17, between December 1 and December 20, 1999.

Colleagues of Securicor confirmed Miss Woolfe had been punched in the face but refused to comment on her condition.
