March 23, 2001 16:08: Life in north London bed-sit land can be grim. Take Tony, a failed poet, clinically depressed and addicted to drink, and Penny, who lurches from one inane thought to another trying to fill her pointless life.
And then there's Joan, broken-down and bitter, brain addled with cocaine.
The three of them form a dangerous love-triangle in a world where the cost of a packet of fags, a bottle of vodka and a sofa to kip on reach Machiavellian proportion.
I Know What You Want is a black comedy which went down a treat at last year's Edinburgh Festival. See it at The Greenwich Playhouse, Greenwich High Street, Greenwich, until Sunday, April 22. Shows start at 8pm and 4pm. Tickets cost £9 and £6 from the box office on 020 8858 9256.
