DANCE, drama and disability came together in grand style as Shakespeare got a brand new makeover.
Members of Greengoose, a performance arts group for people with learning disabilities, staged a dance interpretation of Shakespeare's The Tempest before an audience of 300 people at Bromley College of Further Education, Rookery Lane, Bromley.
Tutor Peter Churchman says the 16 students gave an outstanding performance including, for the first time, speaking parts.
He said: "They are an extraordinary talented group. The production of a play is a marvellous vehicle for teaching absolutely anyone."
The production included rap and punk songs but left out the deeply-negative disabled and disfigured character Caliban. Mr Churchman said this was a group decision because it was important none of the students identified with this stereotype.
