Formerly known as Brixton in the 19th century, the village of Brighstone is a hive of activity found in the south of the Island.

Brighstone itself lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and its coastline is designated as both a Heritage Coast and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Rightly so; the coast to this part of the Island is famed for its fossilised treasures and secrets.
Closer to home, the lucky new owner of Dormers in the heart of Brighstone, has a wonderful opportunity to become part of a thriving village community.
There are two churches here — one of which is over 800 years old — a village hall, library, primary school, recreation ground, outdoor tennis courts, social groups, GP’s surgery, pub and local businesses. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
There is certainly a lot to do in this countryside village, not to mention all the walks and outdoor pursuits you can enjoy.
Dormers can be found set back from the Main Road, five properties up from the newsagents. The road itself is remarkably quiet.
To the front there is a nice, private garden and parking for several vehicles on the drive.
To the side of the property there is a path that brings you round to the beautiful rear garden that would make a gardener’s heart soar.
It’s such a lovingly created space, filled with all kinds of fauna and foliage that provide a wonderful green retreat.
There is also a patio area to enjoy the garden with a pretty pergola overhead.
Internally, this is a home that has been cherished and is presented in very good decorative order.
There is a roomy hallway downstairs and airy landing upstairs, offering lots of space.
To the ground floor there is a lovely big kitchen and equally generous lounge, both enjoying south-facing views across the garden.
The kitchen is modern and is large enough to accommodate a dining table.
However, there is also an additional dining room on this floor that enjoys views to the front and back of the house.
Also to the ground floor is the ever-important WC, separate cloakroom and a deep storage closet.
A double bedroom completes this floor.
Heading upstairs, there are two further bedrooms — both generous doubles and a family bathroom.
To the front, each bedroom enjoys views up to the downs and to the rear the two bedrooms have a rural outlook stretching out to The English Channel.
The second bedroom has the benefit of a built-in cupboard while the master bedroom has an en-suite shower room.
