A MODEL from Kings Langley has been chosen as the face for Breast Cancer Awareness Week in October.
Nineteen-year-old Miss Rebecca Watson, of Vicarage Lane, has been modelling for a year. She was discovered by Watford agency Spetch and Muskett two years ago.
She was chosen to launch the week, called Getting the Pink, by the charity because, at 5ft 9in, she met their requirements for a tall, attractive, assertive blonde.
The shoot, which took place on Monday, May 21, in Cardiff, was Miss Watson's first major modelling job. It is one to which she has a personal connection, as her grandmother and her mother's twin sister died from breast cancer.
Miss Watson now hopes to take up modelling full-time.
She said: "I've done lots of bits and bobs and also some promotional work but nothing major like this before. I was well pleased to get the job."
Miss Watson hopes to continue with modelling promotional work, which ranges from leafleting to highlighting events such as Getting the Pink.
She has an interview lined up with a promotion agency to do some modelling information work and also hopes to approach some of the larger modelling agencies in London such as Storm.
Ms Kathryn Muskett, of Spetch & Muskett, said: "She's a really good girl. This job has been really good for her career. We hope it's the start of big things for her."
