ALEKS Przespolewski struck an incredible five goals to singlehandedly steer Newport to victory at Verwood Town today (Saturday).

His five goal haul, scored in the second, seventh, 33rd, 82nd and 90th minutes, saw Newport home to a 5-1 victory in the Premier Division of the Sydenhams Wessex League.

There was more good news for the club when their reserves beat Horndean in the Wyvern League at St George's Park, 7-2.

Matt Foreman scored four, Jared Wetherick, two ,and Sam McInnes, one.

In Division 1 of the Wessex League, Cowes Sports thumped Hythe and Dibden 6-2 to consolidate their place in the top echelons of the table.

First-half goals were scored by Gareth Bricknell, two, Lee Davies, Darren Williams and Max Draper and although Hythe scored twice early in the second half, Jamie Dyer made sure the Yachtsmen had the final say.

Elsewhere, it was a bad day for East Cowes Vics as they lost 3-1 at home to Whitchurch United, while their Reserves lost 5-0 to New Milton in the Wyvern League.
