COWES Sports' woes continued in the Sydenhams Wessex League, Premier Division on Saturday as league leaders Wimborne Town hit them for seven.
The side lost 7-1, Mikey Jones scoring an early goal to equalise with the table toppers. But after that it was one-way traffic as Wimborne hit three more in the half to make it 4-1, before another three goals were scored in the second half.
Meanwhile, Brading Town scored twice within a minute to take all three points from New Milton Town at the Peter Henry Ground, winning 2-1.
Dan Vale scored the opener with a shot which crept over the line, before Simon Armstrong scored straight from the restart.
New Milton pulled one back early in the second half but their chances were cut short when one of their substitutes was sent off for an elbow on Adam Sunsberg.
Newport were locked in a dull 0-0 draw with Alresford Town at St George's Park, while in Division 1, East Cowes Vics drew 2-2 away to Stockbridge, John McKie and Will Sturgess on target for Vics.
