WHO gets promoted from IW Saturday League Division 2, depends on a decision by the IW FA, after a draw between promotion hopefuls Sandown and Osborne Coburg.

Had Sandown won this clash with Coburg on a wet and windy Saturday, they would have been celebrating promotion but a draw means no-one is sure who is going up.

As it stands, Pan Sports top the table with 45 points, the same as Sandown, but with a better goal difference.

Coburg, who have a game in hand after their clash with W and B was abandoned last month, are just two points behind. So, if the IW FA decides they should play W and B again, and win, they would leapfrog both sides and win the title, with Pan in second.

Coburg got the best start when, just a couple of minutes into the game, they took the lead, when Luke STONE headed in from a corner.

The game then descended into a gritty stalemate, with tackles flying in from all quarters as both sides vied for superiority.

It wasn’t until five minutes into the second half that Sandown equalised, when Chris FLETCHER turned the ball in from close range.

Ten minutes later, they took the lead and nudged closer to going up, when a cross into the box from Scott Eastman was carried in by the wind, hit the post and down onto the foot of a Coburg player.

But their hopes were crushed when, five minutes from time, Coburg sub Gabbi PERRIN tapped in from just a few yards out.

Sandown: Payne, Roberts, Spragg, B. Attrill, Lucas, Watkins, Johnson, Breignan, K. Attrill, Bleach, Fletcher. Subs: Eastman, Kenning, Lester.

Osborne Coburg: Arnold, Storey, Harvey, Stone, Sprooles, Bradley, Phillipson, Spiers, Parkman, Moody, Cantelo. Subs: Perrin, Moul, Baker.
