Goals galore in Wessex League

THERE were plenty of dramatic goals in the Sydenhams Wessex League today (Saturday).

Newport were denied a victory at Hamworthy in the Premier Division conceding a 92nd-minute goal to draw 2-2.

Hamworthy went ahead in the seventh minute, but second-half goals from Tom McInnes and and Iain Seabrook but Hamworthy snatched a point at the death.

Meanwhile, in Division 1, Cowes Sports edged Amesbury Town 4-3. Jordan Browne and John McKie gave Cowes a 2-0 lead but Amesbury drew level, before an own goal nudged the Yachtsmen ahead again. Amesbury made it 3-3 but McKie netted again to take the points.

East Cowes Vics lost 2-0 at Laverstock and Ford, both goals coming in the second half.
