NEWPORT captain Darren Powell made a landmark appearance for the club today (Saturday).
Powell played in Newport's 3-2 defeat to Brockenhurst - his 500th outing for the club.

Manager Andy Sampson paid tribute to him.
Sampson said: "He’s Mr Reliable.
"He never moans, even when he’s had spells on the bench, he’s at every training session and he is a great role model for footballers.
"He scores, he gives everything and to play that many games for one club is an amazing achievement."
Teammate Tom McInnes also congratulated Powell.

He said: "What an achievement.

"It has been a pleasure playing alongside you.

"Island football could do with more players like Darren Powell."
