FOOTBALLKEVIN Winchcombe has been named as the new boss of Cowes Sports.
Winchcombe, of Newport, is also the chairman of Newport Cricket Club and is a member of the IW football team going to next month’s Island Games.
He was appointed to the role just before the Wessex League side’s last game of the season.
Last season, he and Martin Young were assistants to Andy Sampson. Young will now be Winchombe’s assistant for the forthcoming campaign.
A spokesperson for the club said: “We initially thought Kevin and Martin would be co-managers but Martin wanted to take a back seat while Kevin was more than happy to be at the forefront.
“We are sure he will do a great job for the club and wish him luck for his first year as manager.”
