Newport can't break down Ascot

Newport were ahead twice with goals from Jon Holmes and Tom McInnes but were pegged back twice by Ascot, who had their player-manager sent off in the 38th minute. Their equaliser came in the sixth minute of injury time to force a period of extra time though neither side could find a winner.

Meanwhile in the Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1, there was a shock 2-0 defeat for leaders Cowes Sports against second-placed Brockenhurst, while East Cowes Vics ran riot against Stockbridge, winning 9-0.

Goals were scored by Josh Appell, three, Tom Scovell, two, Joe Adams, Matt Evans and Jake Younie, two.
