FOOTBALLEast Cowes Vics 7, Shanklin 0
EAST Cowes Vics booked their place in the semi-finals of the IW Senior (Gold) Cup on Tuesday night, with a convincing home win over Shanklin.
Vics were 2-0 up at half time at Beatrice Avenue, but ran away with the game in the second half.
The side’s goal tally was boosted by Andy EBBS, who netted a hat-trick, while Alan TYRELL and Casey TYRELL, along with John MCKIE and substitute Leon DAY, added to the scoresheet.
The side join Cowes Sports and Newport in the semi-finals, with Brading Town and Brighstone the other two teams who could reach the last four.
Vics: True, Ince, Barsdell, Attrill, Bast, Watson, A. Tyrell, McKie, Barnes, C. Tyrell, Ebbs. Subs: Gulliver, Holmes, Day.

Ringwood Town 2, East Cowes Vics 1
With a weakened squad, only one substitute and on the back of a poor performance last week, East Cowes Vics turned in a decent display and were unfortunate not to take at least a point from their trip to Ringwood.
The only goal of the first half went the way of the Island side, Casey Tyrell converting a penalty after the lively John McKie was bought down.
Ashley Gulliver on his Wessex League debut, put in a great effort up front.
The second half was a fairly even affair but after equalising from a corner, Ringwood started to put pressure on the Vics’ back line.
Just when it seemed Vics had done enough to take a point, one of the Ringwood centre-halves drove in a stunning half volley from 30 yards to steal the win.
Vics: True, Ince, Barsdell, Holmes, Bast, Barnes, Ebbs, A. Tyrell, McKie, Gulliver, C. Tyrell. Subs: Gifford.
