Four members of Boreham Wood Crusaders were part of the winning team at a recent national skater hockey tournament.

Steve Dickinson, Tom Kasler, Curtis Esty and Martin Spight were all selected for the U16 Eastern region squad that scooped top honours at the Burton-On-Trent event.

The final match ended in a 10-7 victory for the Eastern region over the Southern region.

Earlier, the team enjoyed their best match of the competition against Yorkshire & Lincolnshire. Six goals from Esty helped his side secure a 13-4 victory.

A match against East Midlands was a lot tougher and Kasler was highly praised for his rearguard display. The youngest member of the squad, Spight, shared goalkeeping duties and he conceded eight goals out of a total of 20. Dickinson was selected as team captain and was a worthy recipient of the trophy.
