COWES Sports avoided the drop from the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division with a final day victory over Amesbury Town.
Jordan Browne’s second-half goal sealed a 1-0 win and the vital three points they needed to stay up.
The win was even more crucial, as a draw or loss would have seen Cowes relegated after Fawley beat Brockenhurst 2-1.
Cowes also announced their new manager, former Aston Villa and Coventry player, Steve Hunt, who will take charge next season.
Elsewhere, Newport lost 1-0 to Moneyfields and in Division 1, East Cowes Vics concluded their season with a 2-2 draw against Christchurch.
In the Harwoods IW Saturday League, Sandown won the Division 2 title with a victory over Carisbrooke.
