FOOTBALLTHE inaugural Luke Cowan Cup football competition took place on Saturday, raising more than £300 for charity.
The tournament, held in Pan on Saturday, attracted eight five-a-side teams, all eager for glory.
In the end, it came down to a final between Strugglers Utd and the unbeaten Afros Utd, who were favourites for the trophy.
However, the Strugglers made it through, winning 3-2.
The trophy and medals were donated by The Sports Shop, of Shanklin, while the consolation plate was donated by While-u-Wait engraving shop, in Newport.
Food and refreshments were provided by the Isabel Centre, while a bouncy castle, donated by the Church on the Roundabout, kept children happy.
James Cowan organised the event in memory of his brother, who died last year.
He said: "I just want to say a big thanks to everyone who donated items and those who gave their services for free. I was so happy with how it all went."
