NEWPORT'S biggest day has been rained off.
The club were due to play Ascot United in just an hour's time in the fifth round of the FA Vase, having passed a morning inspection at St George's Park.
But the match referee has now declared, after steady rain today (Saturday), that the game is unplayable.
It will now be played next Saturday, February 16.
The weather has also spoiled East Cowes Vics's day, after their trip to Hythe and Dibden was postponed.
Several matches in the Island League have also been called off, see our results service for information.
