COWES Sports's relentless charge in Division 1 of the Sydenhams Wessex League continued today (Saturday) with a 2-1 win over Stockbridge at Westwood Park.
The side wnt 1-0 up jst before the break when in-form Gareth Bricknell netted, although his effort was cancelled out by the visitors early in the second half.
However, the points were sealed when Bricknell netted from the penalty spot, and victory was assured when the Stockbridge captain was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Meanwhile, a late Matt Evans goal earned East Cowes Vics a point at US Portsmouth.
The Islanders went ahead within the first five minutes with an own goal but two strikes from US Portsmouth gave them the advantage.
However, with 20 minutes left, Evans scored to earn Vics the draw.
