THE crowd was streaming out of Hayes Lane long before the final whistle on Saturday when Hendon did the league double over Bromley Town.

"Along with the Aldershot game it was probably our worst performance for a long time," said manager George Wakeling.

The visitors went ahead after 40 minutes with their first venture into the Bromley area. Paul Whitmarsh received the ball out wide and sent the ball forward to Junior Lewis. He held it up well on the goal-line before squaring it back into the path of Tony Kelly who volleyed home from 10 yards.

Landry Zahana-Oni should have equalised after the break but stubbed his shot and Jamie Kyte's effort was easily saved.

Hendon went further ahead on 66 minutes. Junior Lewis made a break, while the Bromley defence appealed for offside. He took the ball to the byline and crossed to Paul Whitmarsh. The striker hit the angle with his first shot but reacted quickly to ram home the loose ball.

The third came in the 81st minute when Whitmarsh curled a left-foot shot around Ollie Adedeji and the stranded keeper, Munden. Hendon's last goal was a 30-yard blockbuster from Steve Heard.

Matthew Woolf's consolation goal came two minutes before full time.
