Diversity of information

GARDENINGMY feature on the Island’s historic yew trees went down very well in some quarters, especially with the IW Council’s countryside section, which puts together the excellent series of Histree Trail booklets.

They catalogue the Island’s ancient trees, that are best seen in spring, midsummer and autumn

The eight Histree Trail leaflets can be picked-up free from TICs, libraries and also as downloads from www.histreetrail.com/trails.

The lady whose project it was is now biodiversity projects officer, and one of her jobs is to look after www.wildonwight.co.uk, the Island’s biodiversity website.

There’s lots of great content already on there, including a useful news section.

One new section will be   Wildlife Gardening, which will contain resources, hints and tips, and ways like-minded people can get involved.
