Fruit cages at Ashknowle House, Whitwell.
GARDENINGSTALWART of the Island’s charity National Gardens Scheme, Jennie Fradgley, and her husband, Keith, open the garden of Ashknowle House, Whitwell, at the weekend.
Tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday there is the opportunity to explore in the grounds of the Victorian house.
There’s mature and immature woodland, a children’s trail through it, borders, a wildlife pond and water features. The productive kitchen garden is a highlight.
There is car parking in the village and in the field near the house, unless wet. Admission, 1pm to 4pm, £3.50, children free.
