JOINED: Historic links between the Woolwich economy and River Thames have been given a fresh boost with the arrival of a new pier. Measuring 85 metres, the linkspan, forming the main part of the pier at the Woolwich Arsenal, was towed upstream before being winched into position. The £1.2m pier, which will provide boat access for both river cruising tourists and commuters, marks an important step in the continued bid to bring tourists to Woolwich
