MEMBERS of Bishop's Stortford Town Council have continued to express concern over the loophole in the planning law which allows the installation of mobile phone masts without planning permission.

The full council has agreed that even though the planning authority was under no statutory obligation to notify residents of such proposals, the plans should be released to enable householders to voice their opinion.

Town clerk John Ingham received a copy of the regulations governing mobile phone masts and transmitters which would be forwarded to all members in due course.
