Young entrepreneurs have been starting out on, what they hope is, the road to success with the setting up of a new Croydon company.

Optimistically called Success, the foray into the world of commerce is being made by 14 students, between the ages of 16 and 17, who are part of this year's Young Enterprise Scheme.

Working as a team, the students will manufacture, market, and sell products, such as decorated candle holders, photoframes, placemats and designs for the table.

Managing director Chrishanti Yorke said: "I am pleased with the way the company members have worked together. Targets have already been reached."

The enterprising young businessmen have already sold shares and capital has been raised by convincing family and friends that a healthy return is just around the corner.

The company has stemmed from the successful Young Enterprise Scheme which, since 1963, has been giving the high flyers of tomorrow a taste of the cut-and-thrust business world of today.

Success' products will be on sale at the Old Palace Craft Fair on Saturday. The products will be available from a series of further craft fairs, throughout Croydon, until the end of next July. The company will then go into liquidation.
