HOCKEY

IW 5, Fareham V 0

IW SHOWED their class to overwhelm a frustrated Fareham side at Smallbrook.

Good link-up play between Lewis Heaven-Gandy, Tom Young and James Liddiard helped set up Stephen Woodford for the first goal after only a few minutes.

And they were soon three goals to the good when the IW were awarded two penalty flicks, Tom Young converting both.

With the opposition very much on the back foot and appealing decision after decision, IW held their nerve to control the remainder of the half.

In the second half, the team settled in, with new addition Dan Bartlett doing well and Tom Gould enjoying his new role in defence.

Woodford scored again, and James Liddiard found the net, to seal victory.

IW: T. Butt, P. Butt, Bartlett, Butler, Heaven-Gandy, Allen, Simmonds, Gould, Woodford, Liddiard, Young
