HOCKEYHOCKEY player Holly Newton tasted glory with her Trojans’ teammates last weekend as they powered to victory in the under-16 girls’ clubs final of the National Indoor Hockey Championships, in Nottingham.
The match, against Beeston, finished 7-3 in favour of Southampton-based Trojans, with Holly helping to lead the side as vice-captain.
Trojans effectively won the match in the first half, leading 6-1 at the break.
The match was televised on Sky Sports.
After the match, Holly, 15, of Whiteley Bank, said: "It was amazing. We were so close last year and we did not want to have that feeling of defeat again.
"This time we all went out determined to win it."
