HOCKEYUniversity Of Portsmouth 8, IW II 1
BOOSTED by their victory over Fleet and Ewshot the previous week, IW II were brought back to earth with a bump on Saturday after they were outclassed by an excellent Portsmouth University side.
The home side are too good a standard for Hampshire League 5 and they showed their class at a wet and windy HMS Temeraire.
After going into a 3-0 first-half lead, Portsmouth continued to impress in the second half with five more strikes. The Island’s goal came courtesy of Sam Brown, assisted by captain Richie Reynolds.
The side take on Portsmouth and Southsea at Smallbrook Stadium tomorrow (Saturday), at 1.30pm.
