HOCKEYIW II 1, Trojans IV 4
IW II fell to rivals Trojans in a heated Hampshire League 5 match, on a frustrating day for the team.
The Island were not helped by losing top scorer James Liddiard and playmaker Reece Finney for the match, and although they competed with Trojans physical style of play, the side went into the break 1-0 down, thanks to a breakaway goal scored ten minutes into the half.
The Island also lost winger Rob Forrest to a wrist injury during the match, meaning the team found it difficult to break down Trojans well-marshalled defence without three of their most creative players.
Despite doing their best to compete, the Island fell to three quick goals.
They grabbed a fourth goal before the Island scored a consolation at the death from a powerful Richard Reynolds shot.
