LOCAL artist Corrine Corrigan is calling on readers to sponsor her to paint a large mural over a 24 hour period to raise money for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.

The emergency air service saves lives by transferring injured and seriously ill people to hospital from isolated areas in a race against time to receive life-saving surgery.

The air ambulance relies solely on support from large companies and funds donated by individuals.

Wycombe Wanderers have allowed The Woodlands Suite at Adams Park, Sands, to be used for the Paintathon which is being organised by the Rotary Club of Marlow with the support of the district governor.

Corrine is confident she is up to the challenge and said: "I am interested in painting a spontaneous mural and look forward to a concentrated effort over a 24-hour period.

"I have achieved this on previous occasions and felt that this time it would also provide an opportunity to raise funds for a worthwhile local charity.

"The Rotary Club of Marlow offered their services in arranging an event and the result is the Paintathon. Please support everyone's efforts by sponsoring me in this event in the knowledge that every penny raised will go directly to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance."

The Paintathon will take place on Friday, February 22 at 10pm until 10pm the next day.
