Southampton Uni III, 4, IW 7
A HIGH scoring match saw the high-flying IW go top of their league.
The Island outfit started brightly, with Stephen Woodford pinching two poacher’s goals.
The striker almost had a hat-trick inside five minutes, but was unable to take advantage when the opposition goalie got the ball caught in his feet.
Southampton played their way back into the game and pulled a goal back before the end of the half.
A strongly-worded half time talk, saw the IW come out fired up.
James Liddiard scored two in quick succession, before Tom Gould played through Tom Young to hit the ball first time into the net.
The Islanders did concede a further two goals but the Gurit man of the match Woodford then scored his hat-trick.
Shortly after, the in-form striker added a fourth goal for good measure and put the Island side in a dominant position.
