On Friday, the Towers sprung the trap door on the Bullets with a brilliant 84-79 win at the NEC in Birmingham.

Although debutant Coleman, Johnson and Bucknall scored the bulk of Towers' points, it was team-mate Barry Bowman who dunked a crucial three-pointer in the closing stages of the fourth quarter, which clinched the victory.

Then, on Sunday, the Towers entertained Edinburgh Rocks at the Crystal Palace Sports Centre.

Guard Danny Lewis, who was voted the league's player for month for December, finished with a personal haul of 23 points, but not before the Scottish team had given them a fright by scoring 13 ponits without reply in a five-minute period in the second quarter.

But thanks to Lewis, who was superbly supported by Bowman and Donnie Johnson, the Towers battled back in the third quarter.

But they were still finding it hard to gain the upperhand and when Rocks' Joel Burns' three-pointer tied it up at 60-apiece the scene was set for a thrilling cloing few minutes. But the Towers then stepped up a gear to clinch a 68-62 win.

Meanwhile, the Towers are looking forward to a semi-final clash in the uni-ball Trophy against Thames Valley Tigers following their 76-72 victory over Derby Storm over the Christmas holiday period.

l The Towers have signed forward John Potter from the Leicester Riders to replace Malcolm Leak, who has signed for the Midlanders.
