High Wycombe Cricket Club have snatched Paul Woodroffe from neighbours Beaconsfield.

The Bucks seam bowler player becomes Wycombe's fourth signing of the close season and joins fellow new-boys Greg Pooley, Mark Wright and David Taylor on the London Roaders playing staff.

He will combine his playing duties with the role of Academy Director where he will coach the colts and senior sides.

High Wycombe chairman Richard Morgan said: "We're very pleased to get Paul. His skills and experience will be invaluable and he is just the type of person we have been looking for to improve the team."

And he reckons the four signings Wycombe have made this winter will make them a force to be reckoned with in the summer.

He said: "It is a measure of the status of High Wycombe Cricket Club that players of this quality want to play for the club.

"They will add strength to our young first team squad. It doesn't undermine but underpin the youth development programme put in place ten years ago and hopefully takes us that bit further in pursuit of major honours.
