A host of Premiership clubs have now contacted Ks boss Geoff Chapple toask after teenage striker Gavin Holligan.

The 18-year-old netted another two goals in Saturday's FA Cup winat Maidenhead, including a stunning 30-yarder, as speculation surroundinghis future intensified.

According to Chapple, 14 clubs have expressed interest in Holligan, eventhough he has only made a handful of starts, with 12 scouts watching himat Maidenhead.

He said: "Gavin is becoming a match-winner in his own right butpeople shouldn't expect him to do it every week.

"I just want to nurse him along and I don't want him to burnout in the middle of the season because I care for him.

"He's happy at the moment, learning his trade and buildinghimself up physically, with people like Dave Leworthy here to help himalong."

Chapple was keen to stress he does not want to sell Holligan but admitted"everybody has a price".

And he said: "When it happens, it will be the biggest deal this clubhas ever seen. We're not talking about £25,000 here - itwill be easily six figures."

While the Ks desperately try to hang on to their star striker, Chapple isdelighted to have finally solved his problems at the other end of thepitch.

Goalkeeper Steve Farrelly, who made his debut at Maidenhead in his firstcompetitive game of the season, has a fine pedigree with Macclesfield,Barrow and Rotherham.

The 33-year-old was a regular fixture in the England semi-pro team and at6ft 5in he is just the type of towering figure that Chapple has beenlooking for.

But the Ks' boss stressed Jerome John, dropped after a series ofshaky displays, was very much part of his plans for the future and praisedhis attitude as he tries to fight his way back into the first team.
